• Daryl Edward Harnden

                Daryl Harnden was born on August 28th, 1950 in Wenatchee, Washington. He grew up in the valley and attended Cashmere Schools for 12 years. He graduated in 1968 with many achievements under his belt. He played tennis all 4 years, was a district champion in tennis his senior year and was a very active F.F.A. member all 4 years. For F.F.A. he was the secretary his junior year, president his senior year, and attended the national convention his senior year. On top of all these activities he took part in he managed to find time to be his junior class president and senior class vice president.

                After graduating from Cashmere High School he attended Wenatchee Valley College for 2 years and then transferred to the University of Washington. After completing college he went to work for his brother’s landscaping business and also committed himself to installing irrigation systems for companies.

                In 1975 he married Lorna Bolton from Casper, Wyoming. They moved back to Cashmere in 1976 and took over his dad’s orchard in 1976. They have three sons Mike, Gary, and Greg. They were born in 1976, 1980, and 1982 respectively. Daryl helped coach his son’s basketball and baseball teams and supported them in every aspect of life. Although his sons are grown now he continues to help coach little league and has always been able to make sports fun and give kids the confidence to step up to the plate without a fear of failure.

                In 1989, he worked on the Vale School bond election. As well as serving as a chairman of the school levy election in 1991. He has been chairman of all but one levy campaign since then and last year he charred the bond of election for the new Middle School. From 1996 to 2000 he served as the president of the Cashmere booster club.

                Daryl is a lifelong member of the Former Cashmere First Baptist Church. He has been a member of the board of directors for the Blue Star Growers since 1990 and is currently faming 71 acres of Apples and Pears. He is an active member of the advisory committee for the Ad department at CHS and never fails at showing his true commitment to the Cashmere School District.
