• Donna Decker Timpe

Donna Decker grew up in Cashmere where she attended the Cashmere Schools and graduated in 1960. Shorly thereafter, Donna went on to graduate from Deaconess School of Nursing in 1963. In doing so, Donna was following in the footsteps of her mother, who was an icon in the Wenatchee Valley Nursing Profession for many years.

Donna was a floor nurse from 1963 to 1967 when she was selected as the evening supervisor for the hospital. At that time Donna was 25 years old. She served in that capacity until she retired in 1996. Throughout her nursing career, Donna was a giver and provider for quality health care. Not only did she excel in pediatrics but flourished in emergency room conditions. Donna often volunteered to be a health caregiver for boat races and auto races, and at community celebrations like Apple Blossom; and Donna was frequently found as head nurse on air-flight emergency calls for Ballard ambulance.

In her spare time, Donna volunteered at community events such as the Home Show, benefit fairs, giving blood pressure checks and healthy living counseling to the elderly and other citizens.

We proudly welcome Donna Decker Timpe into the Cashmere High School’s Wall of Fame.
