Jacqueline Cloakey, Class of 2008
I graduated from Cashmere High School in 2008, and graduated
from Central Washington University in 2013 with a degree in Secondary Math
Education. I am currently in my fourth year of teaching, teaching 6th
grade math at a K-8 school in Alexandria, Virginia.
I have previously taught
three years of high school math. I obtained my master’s degree in Curriculum
and Instruction in 2016 from Western Governors University, which I hope to
someday, in the far off future, utilize to become a math coach (helping
teachers with their instruction and classrooms).
Since graduating high school,
my proudest moments have come from watching my students grow throughout each
school year and knowing that I get to be a positive part of their lives.
A
piece of advice that I have for high school students is the same thing I tell
my sixth graders, which is that it’s okay to not know, but it is not okay to
not try.
