Rick Nash

Richard (Rick) Nash was born in 1949 in Wenatchee, Washington. He spent his entire childhood in Cashmere and graduated in 1968. He enjoyed playing football and tennis all four years of high school. He had the privilege of walking to all three schools and coming home to a hot meal at lunchtime.

After graduation, he attended the University of Puget Sound and the  University of Washington,  graduating in 1972. He was accepted to the University of Washington School of Dentistry and graduated with a DDS degree in 1976.  While attending UPS he met his future wife, Ann Bodle. They were married in 1975 and have three children and one granddaughter. They will be celebrating forty years of marriage in November.

In July of 1976, he accepted a position as a contract dentist with the Indian Health Service serving the three tribal reservations in Olympia, WA. In 1977, they moved to Burlington, WA, where he is completing his 38th year of private dental practice.

Rick has served as president of the Kiwanis Club of Burlington-Edison (1984) and continues as an active member serving the community. During his son’s childhood, he was a den leader, pack master and assistant Scout Master of Troop 73. He took great pride in pinning his own Eagle Scout Badge on his son in 2000.

Rick stays active in the local dental society, teaching at the UW School of Dentistry and numerous dental study clubs. He enjoys travelling and snow skiing. His “bucket list” includes visiting the Top 30 US ski areas of which he has two remaining.

He is a season ticket holder for the Burlington-Edison (Tigers) football games, but still keeps track of the Bulldogs and their athletic accomplishments.
