Degrees and Certifications:
Born and raised in Washington State, I grew up spending much of my time outdoors, with my family, playing sports, and making art. It was in my plans from a young age that I would grow up to be a Teacher.
I earned a BA in Social and Behavioral Science in 2007 from The University of Washington and went on to receive my Teaching Certification from UW in 2009. In the following years, I spent my time traveling, working with youth programs in Seattle, and recreating outside.
My love of the outdoors brought me to Leavenworth, Washington, where I built a home with my husband, and son. There, I was fortunate to become a part of an art and nature based children’s program located in a 320 acre canyon and farm in Leavenworth, and was involved with the school in many capacities. As Educational Director I designed and implemented curriculum and program content, worked with and mentored teaching staff, and created and ran a Summer Camp program for first-third graders. Most importantly, I was able to teach kids every day in an environment where children felt safe and able to follow their individual curiosities. I was lucky to be a part of this program for 6 years to help implement positive change and grow the school.
Joining Vale has been an amazing new chapter for me. Utilizing my past experience and love of all things Kindergarten, I am thrilled to foster an enriching school environment for these little lifelong learners!
In my time away from school I enjoy traveling, climbing,
biking, family and nature.
