Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Christine Benita
I feel so fortunate to teach technology to all the grades here at CMS. Technology is an ever-evolving field and so are the class offerings. All our 5th graders rotate through our electives, Technology, Music and Spanish. Students can then choose technology as an elective in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.
My family and I are fulfilling a long-held desire to move to the valley. I am originally from Houston where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Masters in Science Education from the University of Houston. Wanting to be closer to outdoor recreation opportunities, we moved to Seattle where I taught 5th grade Math and Science, served as the E-STEM program manager for a newly created K-8 school in which I also taught Environmental Studies in the middle school, and capped my Seattle career by serving as an elementary science curriculum specialist for the Seattle School District. I am an amateur naturalist, enjoy hiking, biking, and snowshoeing. Understanding how the world works and its interdependent relationships are things I totally geek out on and marvel about each day.
