Please be aware that paper FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are no longer being mailed to schools by the Department of Education.  You may call 1-800-433-3243 to request a paper application or go to www.edpubs.org.   You may also apply online by going to www.fafsa.ed.gov.  You may pick up a FAFSA worksheet (in English and Spanish) at Cashmere High School but the final application must be filed online.

www.SchoolSoup.com  has a large database of scholarships available.  Students answer some questions and are immediately presented with hundreds of scholarships.  It’s free and updated daily.

www.MeritAid.com  This site helps students find merit-based scholarships (those based primarily on grades) offered at particular colleges. It’s an excellent site for students looking at particular schools to see what types of merit scholarships are available for them to apply for. 

 

www.acollege.com  Explore career options and find a college based on your goals, interests and location. Connect to the Washington State community or technical college that’s right for you. Learn about financial aid, degree options, hot jobs and more.

Must be U.S. Citizen, between 17-23 by 6/30/10. 

Receive minimum scores on ACT (Math=21, English=22) or SAT (Math=520, Cr. Read=530)

Walter J. Clore Scholarship for Viticulture and Enology.  Must be high school graduate enrolling in a college/university.  Preference will be given to residents of the State of Washington but not limited to study at a Washington college/university.  Selection is based on academic merit, leadership abilities and interest in the study of enology and/or viticulture.   Deadline:  11/30/09

Washington Wine Industry Foundation (S.W. (Bill) Preston)Scholarship.  Must be graduating senior.  Must be planning to enroll in viticulture or enology programs in Washington State. Selection based on academic merit, leadership and interest in viticulture/enology.  Deadline:  11/20/09

Washington Crossing Foundation.  Must be graduating senior.  Must write a one-page essay stating why he/she plans a career in government service.  More information at www.gwcf.org

BKS Burger King Scholars Program.   Must be high school senior with a GPA of 2.5↑and a resident of the U.S.  Must work part-time, demonstrate financial need and be actively involved in community service activities.  Apply online http://www.haveityourwayfoundation.org/.  Deadline:  2/1/10

KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program.  Available online 12/1/09 – 2/10/10.  Must have plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a public institution within Washington State.  Must be graduating senior with a GPA 2.75↑ and be a U.S. citizen/permanent resident.  Application at www.kfcscholars.org  Deadline:  2/10/10

 

AXA Achievement Scholarship.  Must be U.S. Citizen/legal resident, senior planning enrollment in a 2/4-year college/university fall 2010, demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in an activity in school, the community or the workplace and be recommended by an unrelated adult who can attest to student’s achievement.  Deadline:  12/15/09

 

 

AXA Achievement Community Scholarship.  Applicants are asked to describe an outstanding achievement they have accomplished in a non-academic activity or project.  The accomplishment may be a long-term achievement, an activity or a project that occurred in their school, in the community, or in the workplace.  Primary consideration will be given to the applicant’s demonstrated achievement in a non-academic area as reported by the applicant and supported by the appraisal completed by an adult who is not related to the applicant.  Consideration will also be given to other extracurricular activities in school and community, work experience, and the applicant’s academic record over the past four years.

Washington Apple Education Foundation Scholarships.  Over sixty scholarships available for graduating seniors.  Pick up a packet in the Career Center and see which scholarships you qualify for. 

One application for all and the committee will match you to qualifying scholarships.  Deadline:  3/1/10

Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship.  Judged on citizenship and academic achievement.  Must be a graduating senior, accepted or have application pending at an institution of higher learning.  Must have composite score of 20 on ACT or composite score of 1400 on SAT. Must be U.S. citizen or green card.  

Deadline 3/10/10

Fountainhead Essay Contest Scholarship.  Must write essay 800-1600 words on one of three topics after reading the book.  For more information/questions www..aynrandeducation.com   Deadline:  4/25/10

Numerica Credit Union Muriel Wenzek Scholarship.  Must have 2.0↑GPA and pursue a degree or be enrolled in a vocational program as a full time student.  Also must be a member of NCU or be a dependent of a NCU member.  Deadline:  5/1/10

Albert and Fenner Scholarship.  Must submit an essay:  What do you see as the long term impact of our current recession on the average family?  How might it affect their future decisions? 

Big Sun Scholarship.  Must be senior and involved in a school or community sport. Must write a short essay “How has your participation in sports affected the person you are becoming.  Apply online.
